On New Year’s Eve at lunchtime in Duclair, nothing seemed to be open. We called and walked all over town, to no avail. When we stopped in a tiny wine shop on top of the hill behind the town and asked if they had any ideas, they proceeded to sell us some lovely wines AND make calls on our behalf. The last place they called was Le Parc, and boy are we glad they did! We got there at closing time and the chef (I assume he and his wife are also the owners) greeted us with a big smile and welcomed us! The location is stunning ... in a huge old home overlooking the Seine. All 5 of us ordered the least expensive of the Prixe Fix menus and we were blown away by the creativity and amazing touches of this meal. It started with an “amuse” of herring and cucumber with something that tasted like a lime sauce. It was incredible! The 5 of us ordered a mixture of the duck terrine (the chef has some sort of Canarde diploma), a smoked salmon stacked terrine, the pollack (fieu) and the duck thighs, and for dessert a trio of creek brûlée and the pear tart or cake-like thing. This food was really amazing - fantastic flavors and perfect portions and the service provided by the chef, his spud chef and his wife was as good as it gets. We loved Le Parc!!!
Very nice place, we turned up late and they accommodated us, food was lovely, great view of the Seine, friendly staff, will return when in the area.
